Terraria server hosting for the whole group

Try it 2 days free. No credit card required.

A Terraria world on a dedicated server is open whenever anyone in the group wants to play, not only when the host's PC is on. We launch it in a minute, let you upload the world you already have, back it up every night, and give you an AI co-admin in Discord for restarts and 'why can't I join?'.

  • Upload your existing .wld world from the browser

Live in under 60 seconds

The server starts building the moment you press Launch. Your server page shows the address the moment it exists.

An admin that reads the logs

The CouchRaid co-admin in your Discord explains crashes from the real log, restarts, restores and schedules. You confirm the scary stuff.

Your world stays yours

3 backup slots you can restore after one confirm, full file access through the panel, and you can download your save any time.

Things Terraria server owners learn the hard way

  • Terraria characters are saved on each player's PC, not on the server; only the world lives here.
  • Journey characters can only join Journey worlds, and Journey worlds only admit Journey characters.
  • Big worlds take longer to generate on first start; the dashboard shows the server Online once the world is ready.

Terraria hosting FAQ

How much RAM does a Terraria server need?

You don't pick a RAM size with CouchRaid. RAM is uncapped and shared on the node and we watch it for you; the thing you pick is how many friends can join (player slots). Terraria is light.

Can I use mods?

Not on this server yet. It runs the official Terraria server, which does not load tModLoader mods. Vanilla worlds and characters work as they are.

Can console or mobile players join?

This is the PC dedicated server, joined from Terraria on PC by IP and port. We don't promise console or mobile players can join it.

Can I bring my existing world?

Yes. Stop the server, upload your .wld file to saves/Worlds in the File manager (confirm your email first), set World name in Server settings to the file name without .wld (20 characters at most), and start it. Your characters live on your own PC and come with you.

Why does my friend get 'You are not using the same version as this server'?

Their game and the server are on different Terraria versions. Update the game in Steam. The server does not update on a restart: in the dashboard's Version section, keep Terraria version on latest and press Update now to install the newest Terraria server (your worlds are kept).

What's the 2-day free trial?

A real server on any plan for 48 hours, no credit card. Extend it once by 24 hours from the dashboard if you need more time, and keep it by adding a card before it expires.

Ready when your friends are.

48 hours free on any plan, then from $5.99/mo.
